How do you split an image into layers with AI?
Upload a PNG, JPG or WEBP of up to 10 MB. Unlayers sends it to a vision model that detects the text, the objects and the background and rebuilds each one as its own layer. A conversion usually takes a few minutes and you get an email when it is ready. Then open the project, edit the layers and export a PNG.
How do you edit text in a JPG or PNG?
A JPG has no text layer, so normally you would have to retype it in Photoshop. Unlayers detects the text, lifts it off the background and gives it back as an editable text layer: change the words, font, size and colour, then export. Read how text editing works.
How is Unlayers different from a background remover or Photoshop?
A background remover gives you one cut-out. Unlayers gives you every element of the image as a separate layer, including the text, plus an editor to work with them in the browser. Photoshop can do more, but it needs the original file and the skills; Unlayers needs only the flat image.
How much does one image cost?
One credit converts one image. A credit costs $0.80 on the Starter plan and $0.73 on Pro, and a pack of 10 extra credits is $9. Editing and exporting are always free.
What can I change?
Edit detected text, adjust colors, move and resize layers, or hide elements. Export a PNG with your edits.
Does it work with every photo?
You can upload any supported photo. Layer quality varies with the image, and clean product shots and designed creatives tend to work best. Exact fonts and overlapping details may need adjustments.
Can I try it before buying?
Explore and export the sample editor without signing in. Converting your own photo requires a paid plan or credit pack.
Do I need an account to buy?
No. Pay with Stripe and you’re signed in on this device automatically. To use your credits on another device, sign in there with the same email.
What happens to unused credits?
Plan credits arrive in full when each billing period starts: every month on monthly plans, all at once on yearly plans. Unused plan credits expire when the period ends, and the next period starts with a fresh balance. Extra credit packs never expire.
What if a conversion fails?
Failed conversions return your credit. If a request’s status is uncertain, we keep it saved for checking instead of starting another paid conversion.
