About Unlayers

Unlayers is a web app that uses AI to split a flat PNG, JPG or WEBP image into separate, editable layers: the text, the cut-out objects and the background. You upload a finished image, such as an ad, a product shot or a social post, and get back a project where each element can be edited, moved, resized, hidden and exported as a new PNG. No Photoshop and no source file needed.

How it works

What it is good at, and where it stops

Unlayers is built for finished images you no longer have the source file for: ad creatives, posters, menus, product shots and social posts. It is good at giving you the words back as real text you can retype, restyle or remove, and at separating the main objects from a rebuilt background. It is not a replacement for Photoshop when you need retouching, compositing or painting, it does not export PSD files, and fonts are matched to the closest web font rather than the exact original. The comparison with Photoshop, Canva and background removers goes into the details.

Where to start

Pricing in one sentence

One credit turns one image into layers; editing and exporting are always included. Credits come from a monthly or yearly plan, or from a one-time pack of 10 credits that never expires. Prices are shown in your local currency on the pricing section.

Who makes it

Unlayers is built and operated by NOWAY MOBILE OÜ (registry code 17201091), Tornimäe tn 5, 10145 Tallinn, Estonia. Payments are processed by Stripe, the site runs on Cloudflare and conversions are computed by a specialised image model. Details are in the privacy policy and the terms of service.

Your images

The images you upload stay yours. They are stored so your projects remain available to you, sent to our layer model only to be converted and never sold. You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time. The privacy policy lists every service involved and how long data is kept.
